Capillary Electrophoresis in Analytical Biotechnology: A Balance of Theory and Practice
Published in Hardcover by CRC Press (18 December, 1995)
Authors: Pier Giorgio Righetti and William Hancock
Average review score:

GREAT SCIENTIST with his GREAT BOOK
During last several years capillary electrophoresis, as an analytical technique, became a very valuble tool in many areas of human activity: pharmacology, biotechnology, forensic science. In this book, professor Righetti gave a perfect description of different types of capillary electrophoretic techniques and their application for separation of different classes of bilogicaly active molecules. I have read this book several times and think that it is well written, easy to understand and I think it is usefull not just for experienced electrophoresis practitioners, but for beginers as well. Students majoring in chemistry or biology would also find this book interesting and helpfull.

Simple and direct.
The book is to the point without being too light. I read this cover to cover fo a course. I found the diagrams simple and easy to follow. The text includes simple descriptions of pathways and mechanisms of cell signaling. It also included some small pieces of information that were related and made the subject matter more memorable. It is a quick read with good points.

Average review score:

This book gives the practical steps to recovery.
Ms. Mains and Hancock have written a fantastic book on childhood sexual abuse and the problems the victim contends with later in life. The best thing about this book is that it gives practical steps on how to work through the steps of recovery and forgiveness. In fact, the steps to forgiveness can be applied to any area of our lives.

Comprehensive World Reference Guide
Published in Paperback by Instructional Fair (December, 1995)
Authors: Mollie Brittenum, Lisa Hancock, Christine Jensen, Lisa Molengraft, Ruth Ostrowski-Dekone, Caroline Venza, Kathryn Wheeler, and Instructional Fair
Average review score:

ExcellentTeaching Tool
The Comprehensive Reference Guide is an excellent source for students to aquire information on 233 countries from around the world. As a middle school social studies teacher it is one of the first books I encourage my students to research when we begin studying a new region. We have five in the class. Countries are listed in alphabetical order in a well organized table of contents. Each page is laid out in an easy to read format and contains general information on a specific country that includes a minature map, flag (it's black and white and I wish it was color), population, languages, type of goverment, geography, climate, economy, life-style, and a section on interesting facts. In the back are maps of the seven continents and fourteen blank maps that can be duplicated for tests. There is also a currency appendix that gives the country, the name of its' basic monetary unit and its equivalent. It also has an easy to read eighteen page index. This is a good book to have if you are teaching or just interested in finding out basic facts on different countries.

Dance Technique and Injury Prevention
Published in Hardcover by Theatre Arts Books (October, 1992)
Authors: Justin Howse, Shirley Hancock, and Ninette De Valois
Average review score:

If you teach Dance , you must have this !
This book written by Justin Howse, Consultant Orthepaedic Surgeon to the Royal Ballet Schools, The Royal Academy of Dancing and the Remedial Dance Clinic, London , and also by Shirley Hancock, Principal Physiotherapist to the Royal Ballet Schools, the Royal Academy of Dancing and the Remedial Dance Clinic ,London.

This book is a study reading requirement for the Royal Academy of Dancing Anatomy paper.

The foreward by Dame Ninette de Valois, says it all really. "This book gives us the opportunity to indulge in some serious reflection. It is full of highly technical observations on movement as related to the world of ballet and is accompanied by helpful instructions. A great deal of it should be rewarding to students, dancers, teachers, repetiteurs and ballet staff in general. I dare to add that in my opionion, it is also food for thought for choreographers. Today it is not customary for choreographers to give either scientific or practical thought to their choreographic demands. Let us recall that a composer has to remember to keep within the range of a singer's voice. It therefore seems right for a choreographer to study more carefully not only the limitation of dancer's limbs but also the limitation of their general stamina ."

You will never regret spending the money on this book.I refer to this book often. It has excellent photographs also.

I am fortunate in that one of my friends is a physiotherapist who works at the local medical centre. This book provides excellent back up.

Fingerprints Of The Gods: The Evidence Of Earth's Lost Civilizations
Published in Mass Market Paperback by Bantam Books (01 July, 1996)
Authors: Hancock and Hancock Bauval
Average review score:

Science may not have all the answers
This book presents very compelling circumstantial evidence for Earths ancient history. Graham Hancock & Robert Bauval have provided varying scenarios concerning; the building of the pyramids, ancient mapmakers representation of the earth and lost civilizations. They have woven the evidence together in such a way as to suggest our past is not as it is presented today, even going so far as to suggest who really built the pyramids and what really happened to Atlantis. This book makes you think about the immensity of our 'unknowledge' and the brevity of our own lives.

The Fires of Windameir
Published in Paperback by Warner Books (December, 1987)
Author: Niel Hancock
Average review score:

Some Of The Best Work From Niel Hancock
I have been reading from Niel Hancock's array of science fiction/fantasy novels. I have read and own Greyfax grimwald, Faragon Fairingay, Calix Stay, Squaring The Circle, Dragon Winter, Across the Far Mountain, The plains Of The Sea, On The Boundaries Of Darkness, The Road To The Middle Islands, and The Fires Of Windameir. I have to say my favorite was The Fires Of Windameir(I assume it's Windameir Circle 1.) This was my favorite, because the main antagonist here is a young teen named Owen Helwin. Instead of some seaworthy otter or a grumpy dwarf, I get to read about a main character who is probably a couple years younger than me and who has to endure the many cards in life of being a teen(such as falling in love for the first time), while trekking through hostile wilderness between a sundering war between Bern the red Bear(stepbrother of Borim Bruinthor from Across the Far Mountain) and Argent Largo(yes the same Largo as Linne's brother from The Road to The Middle Islands.) Owen must search for a cure for his mother, Linne, who has become fataly ill from a black sleep placed on her by the evils and destruction of Largo. Owen is not alone, with him are the enigmatic Darek, durable kegin, and emerald the bard. Together they must find a leaf from The Three Trees in order to find a cure for Linne. This book has a great amount of adventure and suspense. It basically starts where The Wilderness Of Four 4: The Road To The Middle Islands left Off. I also think that the cover art of the book is the best cover art on all the Niel Hancock books I own. Maybe someday I'll find another copy, rip the cover off, get a color scanner, and scan the picture on my webpage for everyone to see. I find this book hard to come by, but it's worth the search. There's also a fairly large array of cool creatures like Elves, Dariens, and other fun stuff. If you love fanatasy and adventure, you should add this to your collection. The paperback edition I proudly own is 407 pages(408 if you care to count the page in the back that advertises The Wilderness of Four series.) This book has somewhat a little romance in it, but mostly a lot of adventure and high fellowship of friends. This isn't an adventure like Mario and Luigi going off to rescue Princess Toadstool or Xena and Gabrielle questing to kill Julius Caesar and company, I found it much, much more.
